At risk women and girls focus for millions of Lottery Investment

The project will support vulnerable girls at an early stage of their teenage years who may be at risk of falling into harmful behaviours. Consultation identified key triggers which start negative behaviour as intergenerational impact, poor health and poverty. The girls will be reached through local schools, children's and youth services and given tailored support including guidance on healthy relationships, power imbalances and positive sexual behaviours.

In addition Together Women's Projects Leeds Centre, as part of the Women's Lives Leeds consortium will be enabled to further support women with multiple and complex needs, through being part of a project which the Big Lottery Fund have invested £2,022,528. This project led by Women's Aid Leeds and supported by the 12 Women's Organisations in Leeds will provide support for some of the most vulnerable women in Leeds. The city wide project will establish a virtual women's centre to provide a single point of information to enable women to access the support and services they need to be empowered to live healthy happy lives.
