Organisational model

  1. Policy

Start with a gender inclusion policy to provide a foundation and steps towards including, engaging and empowering the women in your service.

  2. Recruit

Recruit women into your service who have shared experiences and life skills to both give and gain through mentoring.

  3. Train

Train your peer mentors through empowering learning that will provide them with tools for change and progression.

  4. Induct

Provide a thorough induction that will give a clear transition for peer mentors from service user to mentor.

  5. Match

Match peer mentors with mentees through tools that promote a woman-centred approach.

  6. Evaluate

Capture the change that both mentors and mentees experience through the service.
